Su Cuo Changxing Temple(蘇厝長興宮)

Changxing Temple's origins can be traced back to the Kangxi reign. Local forbears found king boat in old Tsengwen River(曾文溪), at the Taijiang Inner Sea, and believed it to be a lucky omen. They build hut at the river side which became a place of worship, to pray for an end to the changing course of the river, which had repeatedly caused damage along the coast.
After repeated relocation of the village, Changxing Temple(長興宮) moved to its current location. After several centuries, locals still continue to practice the King Boat ceremony every three years. When you enter the temple, you will discover that the main hall's primary feature is not a deity statue, but a plaque. This is quite rare among Tainan's many temples, so those who like traditional culture trips absolutely must not miss this place.
