The Road was created by Taiwan literature enthusiast Mr. Lin Ming-kun(林明堃). He dreamed of a home for Taiwanese poetry where people could learn about its beauty. He made more than 90 well-known Taiwanese poems into pottery pieces and inlaid them in a red brick wall.
Many flowers and trees grow along Taiwan Poetry Road and different flowers bloom throughout the year. As well as the most popular kapok flowers, Golden Trumpet Tree flowers, lotus flowers, Taiwan Golden Rain Tree flowers, Yellow Bells, Plumeria, Hibiscus, and Roselle and others add color to the road at different times of the year. The small road and the flowers around it combine to form a beautiful poetry trail. Many tourists stroll here or make tea, quietly enjoying the spiritual enrichment brought by the poems and the fragrance of grasses and flowers. Occasionally. Mr. Lin can be seen here reciting Taiwanese poetry, adding further to the charm of this place.
